Depression Counseling in Ellicott City, MD
You Deserve More Than Survival
Depression has a way of shrinking your world. Things you once enjoyed feel flat. Your energy disappears. Even simple tasks start to feel like too much.
You may have told yourself to push through. To be grateful. To “try harder.” But depression isn’t a motivation problem. It’s a weight you’ve been carrying alone for too long.
We Take Depression Seriously and Treat It Effectively
TMS therapy is an innovative treatment that offers a different way forward. With TMS therapy, you can:
Reduces core symptoms of depression: Including persistent sadness, low mood, hopelessness, and emotional numbness.
Improves emotional regulation and stress response: Builds the ability to manage emotional intensity without becoming overwhelmed.
Interrupts negative and rigid thought patterns: Helps identify, challenge, and replace depressive thinking that reinforces symptoms.
Increases daily functioning and motivation: Supports improvements in energy, concentration, decision-making, and follow-through.
Addresses underlying psychological and situational factors: Targets contributors such as trauma, chronic stress, loss, relationship strain, and burnout.
Provides structured tools for symptom management and relapse prevention: Equips you with practical strategies to maintain progress over time.
What Is Depression Counseling?
Depression counseling is a place where you can stop pretending you’re okay.
Our depression therapists don’t look at depression as something happening in isolation. We take the whole picture into account: your mind, your body, your history, and the relationships and environments that have shaped you.
Our work is built on a true partnership, one rooted in honesty, trust, and clinical skill. Together, we focus on what’s actually contributing to your depression, not just the symptoms you’ve learned to live with.
When appropriate, we also provide careful psychiatric medication management, using medication as one part of a personalized treatment plan, not a quick fix.
This is not fragmented care. It’s integrated, intentional support designed to help you move forward with confidence and clarity.
Depression Counseling and TMS: Two Paths, One Goal
For some people, traditional depression counseling is life-changing on its own. For others, counseling paired with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) creates a powerful combination of emotional insight and neurobiological change.
TMS is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment that uses targeted magnetic pulses to activate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. We proudly offer NeuroStar® TMS Therapy, a leading, well-researched approach used nationwide to treat depression, especially when symptoms haven’t fully responded to medication or talk therapy alone.
TMS is drug-free, requires no downtime, and is well-tolerated by most patients. Our team will help you understand how it works, what to expect, and whether it’s a good fit for you.

Experienced Therapists That Meet You Where You Are
There is no standard formula for treating depression because your experience isn’t standard. That’s why your care is never pre-set or rushed. We take the time to understand your symptoms, history, goals, and what’s already been tried, so treatment is purposeful from the start.
We pay attention to what’s helping, what isn’t, and what needs to change—whether that includes counseling, medication management, TMS, or a thoughtful combination of care.
Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or coming back after feeling disappointed elsewhere, you’ll be met with clarity, respect, and clinical expertise every step of the way.

The NeuroStar Advanced Therapy System is indicated for the treatment of depressive episodes and for decreasing anxiety symptoms for those who may exhibit comorbid anxiety symptoms in adult patients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and who failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from previous antidepressant medication treatment in the current episode. The NeuroStar Advanced Therapy system is intended to be used as an adjunct for the treatment of adult patients suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
